Sugarloaf Studio Notes
Winter 2006

Welcome to the news at Sugarloaf Studio! I’ve had a productive summer and fall and am looking forward to sharing my latest work with you.

My drypoint, “The Look”, continues to travel in the Southern Graphics Council exhibit with the most recent venue being at the University of South Carolina in Beaufort. The Strathmore Fine Arts exhibit “Printmaker’s Workshop ‘Retrospective’ continues until October 14 at the Mansion. I have 5 large framed prints and more in the bins in this show. There’s a catalogue available. If you’ve always wanted to know more about printmaking, I’ll be giving a monoprint/monotype demonstration there on Tues. Sept. 26 from 1-3 pm.

On September 8th I submitted work for a fund raiser in Poolesville, MD. On the 30th I’ll have a work available for silent auction at the Sugarloaf Association from noon to 4 pm. More information is available on their web site: www.sugarloafcitizens.org.

One of my “Ginkgo Leaf” monotypes was selected for the upcoming show called “Seeing God” - A Visual Exploration of the Spiritual at the Dadian Gallery in Wesley Theological Seminary, Washington, DC from October 23 - December 15, with the opening reception on October 23 from 6 - 8 pm. More good news - my work was selected to travel to Kanagawa, JAPAN in Jan. & Feb. of 2007 to celebrate Maryland’s 25th anniversary of its Sister State Program. I’ve also been selected for the 2007 Marquis Who’s Who of American Women. I continue to enjoy my volunteer work at the National Institutes of Health and The Children’s Inn. I take special pride in framing the hospitalized children’s artwork for The Children’s Gallery at the Inn.My Saturday mornings find me at The Hyattstown Mill Arts Center where I draw, print or paint with my fellow artisans from the area. The painting above was created at the Miller’s House. Travels took me back to Florida so I have some additional seashore imagery. In cleaning my studio I’ve uncovered paintings that I never completed and have enjoyed revisiting and attempting to resolve them.

Come see! Looking forward to our time together.
