| I love to take something as hard and unmovable as steel and mold it into something that has fluidity and dynamic life. I believe in making artwork that is flowing with movement and excitement so that it gives energy back to a room instead of just taking up space. I use both modern and classical metal working techniques to create truly one of a kind sculptures that reveal both the natural and varied looks of steel. |

| I create handbuilt and wheel thrown pottery, as well as slab-built figurative sculptures. I work textures into the surfaces of the figures using tools I have created from bisque fired clay, plaster casts, natural elements, and fabrics such as burlap, lace or netting. I use red iron oxide and engobes as finishes on the sculptures before firing them in the kiln to 2262 degrees fahrenheit. This season I will have concrete garden sculpture in addition to my figurative slab-built stoneware and sculptural art pottery. I have been expanding my sculptural media to include concrete, cold cast metals, plaster, leather masks and head pieces. I have a new website called Hunky Punk Creations, http://www.hunkypunkcreations.com/, please come by and check out my new work. |
